3Sixty Care Partnership have been successful in our recent bid for funding for practices to help recruit, train and develop more clinical pharmacists to meet the commitment of providing additional clinical pharmacists in general practice.
Aly Rashid, Medical Director for NHS England in Northamptonshire, said: “The clinical pharmacist programme is a clear win-win for patients and GPs. The pilots have shown GP workload to be eased while patients have the convenience of being seen by the right professional in a more timely way. The expansion of the programme today is great news for everyone.”
This funding is partly provided by NHS England and GP practices for a 3 year period. Dave Briggs, Deputy Medical Director at NHS England, has given an interview on the clinical pharmacist scheme in Northants which was aired on BBC Radio Northampton’s breakfast show on Easter Monday.
Many practices have expressed an interest in employing a clinical pharmacist and 3Sixty are looking to submit an extension bid to this scheme in May.
